IOWA GHOST TOWNS
COUNTY OF EMMET
TOWN OF HIGH LAKE

The town of High Lake was platted in High Lake Township in 1881 for John and Catherine Lawler of Crawford County, Wisconsin. The platting was done for them by E.O.Reeder.
The East and West Streets were number from First to Seventh Streets. The North and South Streets were Emmet, Lake, Main, High and Iowa.
The Chicago Milwaukee & St. Paul Railroad's tracks ran thru the town. Later the Railroad removed the tracks and the town of High Lake lost it's importance.
