IOWA GHOST TOWNS
COUNTY OF EMMET
TOWN OF HALFA

Halfa is another town platted in 1899 by the Western Town Lot Company of the Chicago & North western Railroad. Located in the Northwest corner of Armstrong Grove Township in Emmet County, Iowa. The East and West Streets were named Pine, Oak, and Grant. The North and South Streets were named Lincoln, Main and Railroad.
This town the Company founded for speculative reasons hoping to make money on the project. As opposed to some of the towns they founded along their railroad routes. When the lots were all sold they had no more interest in the town.
At one time the town had as many as fifty residents.
