Town of Gridley


Gridley lies in the Eastern part of Swan Lake Township and was founded by the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad. It was owned by the Western Lot Company with Marvin Hugitt serving as President. The plot was layed out and filed on April 22, 1899. It had six blocks with the North and South streets being named Railroad, first, Second and Third. The East and West streets were named Oak, Mapel and Ash. There is a General Store and a Grain elevator. The mail being delivered from the Mapel Hill Postoffice.
